How do you create your own clothing style

First of all, determine what is your body type. Are you tall, petite, curvy, have an athletic build, or are you pear-shaped.
Then, you’ll have to ask yourself lots of questions to determine what you like.
Secondly, decide what are you assets? Do you have long legs, fabulous shoulders, a small waist? You’ll want to play up them in your clothing.
Thirdly, what is your lifestyle? Are you in school? Working? If so, are you in a creative field, or a field where “Betty Banker Black,” and “Betty Banker Blue” outfts perform better in a conservative field.
Fourth—Are you a high or low maintenance type of gal? Does the idea of ironing linen blouses, knowing that they’ll wrinkle in seconds thrill you? Or, are you a person who feels that if no one knows that you wore a tee two days in a row, you can wear it.
How did you decorat your home? Did you use lots of accessories, or prefer things streamlined? If you prefer clean lines, stay away from anything frilly.
Are you active, or is your idea of being active is turning a page in a book.
Once you determine what you like and what works for yourlifestyle, take a look at what your favorite celebrities wear. If they have the same body type as yours, and are the same height, head on over to your local mall and/or department store and try on their style clothing. Do you feel fabulous in it? If not, put it back on the rack.
If your favorite celeb is of a different body type than yours, but you love their style, remember proportion is key. If you’re taller or shorter, or thinner or heavier, you’ll need to deconstruct what they wear and then break down what will work for you. If they’re tall and they always wear long skirts, and you’re shorter, try on skirts that hit you mid-calf.
Go to stores and try on clothing that you would never wear. Why? Because sometimes when you try on something completely different, it may look great on you and you’ll feel great in it too.
The most basic and important rule when it comes to shopping is this: If you don’t love it, don’t buy it.
Don’t let people talk you into buying something that you’re on the fence about. 9 times out of 10, it will sit in the closet.
It takes time to find your style and it’s worth it.
